Stronger at 40: Edmonds & Slatter Back LOROS Again
Edmonds & Slatter Opticians are delighted to announce the success of their winter fundraising efforts in support of local charity LOROS Hospice, culminating in a generous donation of £1,220.72 presented to the organisation this week.
Throughout the festive season, staff across all Edmonds & Slatter practices enthusiastically embraced a variety of fundraising activities. These included Christmas jumper days, winter raffles held alongside local Christmas light switch-on events, and the collection of voluntary donations from patients following complimentary glasses repairs and adjustments.
The cheque was presented to Laura Roberts, Community Fundraiser at LOROS, who expressed gratitude for the continued support from the independent opticians and their patients.
Tim Cole, Director at Edmonds & Slatter, highlighted the essential role local businesses play in community engagement, saying: “As independent opticians, it’s really important for us to engage with the community, and all of the team at Edmonds & Slatter have volunteered their free time for our charity events.” Further strengthening the bond between the two organisations, Edmonds & Slatter Opticians are proud to reaffirm their partnership with LOROS Hospice by naming it their Charity of the Year for the remainder of 2026.
This renewed collaboration is especially meaningful as both organisations celebrated significant milestones: LOROS reached its 40th anniversary in 2025, and Edmonds & Slatter are celebrating their own 40th year in 2026.
