Employee of the Month: July 2026

Congratulations to our July Employee of the Month, Phil O'Neill!

We're delighted to recognise Phil for his outstanding contribution to Edmonds & Slatter Opticians and the dedication he has shown throughout July.

What makes our Employee of the Month award so special is that nominations come directly from colleagues, and Phil received some fantastic feedback from across the business.

One colleague praised "Phil's leadership within the lab while Dan was away", while others highlighted how he is always cheerful, approachable and willing to help whenever jobs need chasing or queries arise. Several team members commented on how supportive and reliable he has been during a particularly busy period, with one nomination noting that "Phil has coped like a star without Dan in the lab."

The work carried out by our lab team is often unseen by patients, yet it plays a vital role in delivering the high standards of service that Edmonds & Slatter is known for. From ensuring spectacles are prepared accurately and efficiently to supporting our practice teams with expert advice and problem-solving, the lab team is an essential part of the patient journey.

Phil's calm and positive approach has not gone unnoticed. One colleague remarked that he has "never seemed irritated or stressed, even with my annoying requests!" while another simply described him as "really helpful."

These comments perfectly reflect the professionalism, teamwork and positive attitude Phil brings to work every day. His willingness to step up, support colleagues and lead by example has made a real difference, and we are proud to recognise his efforts with this month's award.
